A Day At The Lake Beach

We really wanted to take the kids to the beach while we were in California but Eric had to fly back home for work and finals after only two days there and I knew I wasn't up to taking the four kids and a pregnant me to the beach all alone. Instead, we opted for a trip to the beach at Lake Perris. I didn't want to lie to the kids and tell them we were going to the real beach so I told them we were going to the beach at the lake. Alli decided that meant we were going to the lake beach and told her dad that the next time she talked to him. I think there was some sort of confusion with this because I could hear her repeating it to him on the phone over and over again. "Lake Beach, dad. Lake Beach." Anyway, the kids had fun even though they never saw the real beach and I had fun because I didn't have to drive for an hour to get where we were going. What a win-win situation.

On one of the docks at Lake Perris. No one was there when we went so we got the whole thing to ourselves. Yay us!

Alli on the shore. This didn't last for long.

Soon she was traveling deeper....

 and deeper....

and deeper into the water. She was such a little water bug I was worried I would have to go in after her. Luckily she came out on her own after she got cold enough.

Adam thought everyone else was silly for being in the cold water at and opted to stay on the sand.

He looks somber but he actually had a really good time there.

Aunt Kimber talking to our land-loving son.

Caleb was a little leery of the water at first. It was cold and big.

But soon he couldn't resist.

This is drenched, happy, cold Caleb.

His limbs are practically red from the cold. Poor baby.

James thought the water was amazing and I had a hard time keeping him from wandering all the way in.

He looks so cold.

Pointing to some sand that I am sure was very interesting.

Happy water boy.
