Adam is amazing!
Selfie time.
He stole my phone to do this.
I found them later. He is so cute.
Adam sufferers from Juvenile Recurrent Parotitis which means his salivary glands get clogged and infected which causes his cheek to swell. Eric used to experience this when he was a child as well.
This time his cheek wasn't reacting to the usual round of antibiotics and sour candies and we decided to have the ENT clean out his clogged salivary glands. He was a super good sport about the whole thing in the hospital and the procedure went well.
Unfortunately he developed a fistula after the procedure and instead of his salivary glands draining inside of his mouth.......
....they decided to break through and drain outside his cheek instead. How weird is that! Every time the poor guy ate something he would start to salivate and we would need to change his dressing fast. Luckily, it healed after a few weeks and he began to salivate in a less conspicuous area once again. What a trooper!
