Easter

Happy Easter!

The easter egg hunt. Everyone was raring to go!

Where, oh where do we find them?

What a helpful brother!

He found a big one!

Just happy to be there!

Look at that joy!

She found some!

Wow! What a haul!

So pleased with herself.

Looking good!

Ready to dive in.

He's in love!

The wind makes this photo pretty perfect if I do say so myself.

Examining their goodies.

Now free from its box, that bunny is available for eating!

He's so, so in love!

Don't mess with his candy tower!

Or his new stuffy.

Or her new stuffy.

Or his.

We painted eggs AND rocks that Easter. I had read somewhere about kids painting rocks and then hiding them in other people's yards for them to find later. Like an accidental scavenger hunt. I somehow thought that would be a WONDERFUL addition to our Easter celebrations. Sometimes I'm so weird.

Instead of dying the eggs that year like we traditionally do, we used paint markers instead. Our boiled eggs were from our own chickens and, as they were green and blue, we needed a little more coverage to make the colors pop.

This choice to paint instead of dye was met with some confusion.

Since it was Pietro's first Easter with us he didn't know any different and colored away.

He seemed okay with his paint hands and his newly painted rock.

David finished his own eggs quickly and moved on to his rocks.

Adam was quite pleased with his overly colored rock. Can you see it camouflaged there in that puddle?

James was a bit more precise.

All done! How beautiful! Ten rocks to hide and two dozen eggs for dad to eat.

Our next step was to hide the rocks. Everyone got to choose a house. I didn't make them buckle as we drove around and they thought that was just a slice of heaven.

Run James! Run!

Hiding one behind the tree.

He had to go a long way back for that one!

Run Caleb! Run!

Even Bekah joined in the fun. I don't think I ever told the residents of the houses to look for the rocks. I wonder how many of them found them......
