While Grandma Pamela has a amazing house, Grandpa Todd has a stupendous ark. I enjoy exposing my children to all the different kinds of poultry and livestock that enjoyed when I was growing up. I especially love to see the look on their faces when they are introduced to something new.
Some of Grandpa's chicks were in the process of hatching while we were there and there were a few already in the brooder.
Grandpa was nice enough to get one out for everyone to hold.
That poor little chick had to go through David.
And Caleb.
And Adam.
And James before it was put back in the brooder. My boys cautiously enjoyed the whole experience.
Grandpa still has a few of his big turtles and it seems the boys like to see how close they can get before the turtle checks to see if they are food.
My little dare devils.
This turtle needed a little extra nourishment so grandpa went to get him some canned pumpkin from the house. The kids, who had been playing spontaneously in the sprinklers moments before, stopped to help out.
They stayed until the turtle had eaten all of its lunch.
Grandpa had two litters of baby pigs in the farrowing houses while we were there. Adam was very happy to see the piglets.
As was our little miss.
Caleb agreed to help Grandpa out by scratching Nero's back with a broom. The boar happily gave in to Caleb's administrations.
Adam thought he would help out too.
Which ensured James offering his help as well.
David picking his nose while a peacock displays in the background. Pretty sure neither one of them knows that the other exists.
And finally, a picture of my sweet James with his favorite dog Boaz. Grandpa's ark is absolutely stupendous!
