25th of December

Christmas came at last and there was all sorts of happiness in the Berg household.

Our lovely Christmas Tree at it's best: The night before all the kids plowed into it.

The adult stockings were hung on the bookshelf with care.

As were the kids stockings, although they actually had something fun in them.

Pretty tree in the dark. Our tree is never as pretty as when it's all lit up in the dark.

Caleb woke up first and stealthily started to sort through his stocking while he waited for everyone to be ready. He did it stealthily because he wasn't supposed to touch anything until we were all there ;)

Since he had already opened his by the time we were all gathered, he volunteered to help others sort though theirs.

David seemed content with that.

Stockings are so cool!

Unless you're Rebekah and it's early. Then they aren't so cool.

Also, there might be some glow sticks inside them that irritate you.

But the chocolate, oh yes. The chocolate makes it all better.

Santa's present to everyone was five pairs of binoculars.

The kids were super confused for a minute.

Except Rebekah, of course, because hers were pink.

Soon everyone started to realize that the majority of the presents were hiking related and everyone chippered up.

They even got their own compasses which was a big hit.

And toolboxes to put all their loot in.

James won the award for having the biggest present this year.

It was an enormous stuffed bear from Grandma Cheryl and Grandpa Logan.

David received paw patrol puzzles from the same set of Grandparents.

And Rebekah got a baby alive. As you can see, she didn't like it at all.

Adam got Minecraft plush figures from Aunt Lauren which he had been wanting forever.

And Caleb got some Minecraft toys from her as well.

James' gift from aunt Lauren was a stuffed tiger. This boy loves stuffed animals.

David got a yo-kai-watch toy from aunt Kimber. I have no idea if it will last but he really wanted it and was thrilled when he opened it.

Rebekah got a canister of pop beads from Aunt Kimber. With all those pretty colors it was another present win.

This is what we call Christmas carnage.

Aunt Kate creatively made a different sock animal for very child. They loved them. James' was a snake.

Caleb's a dog.

Rebekah's a monkey.

Seeking approval from the dad.

Aunt Kate got a huge box of Kleenex and gift card to Jo-Ann's fabric store. They made her quite happy.

Caleb's amazing primary teacher Matt Poast brought by this box of Sour Patch Kids. Knowing his teacher loves him made this boy smile.

After the chaos was over the kids had time to re-visit all of their presents. James decided to cuddle with everything at once.

Rebekah did some mommy-ing with her baby alive.

David lined up all his yo-kai-watch medallions and proceeded to insert them into the watch one by one. It was a very noisy period of time in the Berg house as each medallion makes a different loud noise when inserted.

We also opened the games we had gotten and started to play with them. I think these two were very evenly matched. Neither one of them quite understood how to play the game.

Adam got a set of geodes from Grandma Cheryl and Grandpa Logan. Eric began the tedious task of cracking them open. Pretty sure our tools were insufficient but I am loving Adam's safety goggles!

Adam decided it was his turn to try out James' bear. You can see he sort of snuck in there without asking. A throne fit for a king.

I guess he wasn't the only one who wanted to try it out. What a popular toy! What an amazing Christmas!
