Mostly About Me

This blog will be mostly about me. I know that mothers are required to blog about their children but I can't help but brag just a little about myself. After all, I am pretty wonderful. But before we get to me, let me tell you just a little about my boys.

Adam has learned how to pray. It's just about the cutest thing you ever heard. It makes the last three years of stubborn, opinionated behavior seem like nothing of consequence. He is getting especially good at highlighting the important parts of each prayer. When we reach a section that he especially likes, he throws his balled fist in the air and puts an exclamation point at the end of the sentence. "We thank thee for this DAY!!!!!" It is so hard not to laugh. I admit to not being reverent on several occasions.
Caleb's new favorite toy is the Bumbo seat. I admit that I adore it too. It's so nice to be able to make dinner or do the dishes and not have to hold him. Yay for the Bumbo! As you can see, Adam thinks he needs a special seat too.

Now about me. Yes, as I have said before, I am pretty amazing. If you remember, I gave birth in April (a feat that is amazing in and of it self if you think about it). Finals were only a few weeks later and, due to the fact that I was still recovering, I had to take an incomplete in two of my classes. My goal was to complete the class work just weeks after finals to be able to enjoy my summer. Unfortunately, it seems that a newborn is even more against me doing school work than a three-year-old is. After three long months I have finally managed to complete my incomplete assignments and submit them to my professors. Yay me! Bring on the summer.

In other news: I am a gardener. My family, as most of you know, planted a garden every year during most of my childhood. I choose to believe that I was an able and willing helper in this task. However, despite my willingness to do the work, I chose not to actually learn anything about the process of planting and caring for plants. After all, it wasn't MY garden. Now that I have a family of my own, I often find myself driven to pursuits that revolve around "homemaking." I am so weird. Weird but successful, if I do say so myself. My tomatoes are budding, my peppers are popping and my carrots are orange as carrots should be. I posted pictures as proof of my success. Yes my dear friends, I am amazing.
