Outside

Being able to spend tons of time outside is one of the best parts of being at my parent's house. They have an acre of land which seems like a really huge area when you are four and under. Currently my parents have dogs, cats, rogue chickens, and huge tortoises. This is nothing compared to the variety of critters they had running around in their backyard only a few years ago but it is plenty to keep my boys happy and fascinated. Other fun attractions "outside" include a garden, an orchard, a berry patch, several out buildings, a fountain, the trampoline, swings, and a fire pit. The boys adored every bit of it and I enjoyed the numerous tall fences that kept them from danger when they would occasionally escape out the back door. Here are pictures from some of our activities:

Adam telling grandma one of his long stories while she weeds. She was such a good sport to listen.

Adam and Caleb "weeding."

Adam helping grandpa fix the fountain.

Getting a ride on grandpa's hand truck.

Falling asleep one afternoon on the trampoline.

Caleb LOVED my parent's cats. I'm afraid the cats didn't feel the same way about Caleb.

Caleb weeding.

Caleb flirting with aunt Kimber beside the empty fountain.

Filling up the fountain with the hose. A Caleb's paradise.

Most mornings after Caleb woke up I would take him outside for a few minutes to watch grandpa and grandma exercise. He loved it.

Adam and James on the trampoline.

James adored outside and the people he found there too.

One of the lovely fences.

Such a smile.

Schucking corn husks with grandpa.

A moment of solemnity.

One of the huge tortoises. Yes, they are kind of freaky at times.

A branch Caleb brought to show me.

Gross and loving it.

To busy drinking to give me a smile.

Such a happy boy.

Seriously now. So cute.
