Caleb's First Haircut

In December it was finally time for Caleb's first haircut. I cut Adam's hair for the first time way earlier in life and was so disappointed afterwards when it immediately lost all of its baby fine softness and became thick and coarse like Eric's hair (sorry babe). Not wanting to lose more of my babies before I was adequately prepared, I waited to cut Caleb's hair until it was long enough to cover his eyes when brushed straight. I thought waiting longer than that might end up meaning ponytails and braids......

 

Climbing up on the chair to get his hair cut. He is only smiling because he didn't know what was going on yet.

I let him examine one of the hair cutting tools before I used it. It was so cool he didn't want to give it back and was very distraught when I took it to being cutting.

Goodbye soft, blond baby hair......
