I love being a parent at Christmastime. There is nothing better than shopping for gifts and watching my boys giddily open them Christmas morning. That being said, I do not like waiting up until the boys fall asleep to set up for Christmas morning. Talk about pain and torture. What exactly are you supposed to do while you wait for those last pair of eyelids to close? Anyway, we did it and I had to take a picture because it looked so pretty.
Awwwww..........
This is actually a picture from the night before but I felt it belonged here. Uncle Joseph was nice enough to take a turn with the boys while we waited for everyone to fall asleep.
Adam was a little confused by his stocking. We obviously need to still work on that one.
They opened their presents from Santa first.
James loved his.
Caleb was too intent on playing to give me a smile.
Adam giving me a generous half smile while he focuses on his present.
James sharing his new toy.
Caleb was still unwilling to smile for me. I am such a bother sometimes.
Adam loved his remote controlled car.
James loved everything about Christmas.
Uncle Joseph was generous enough to buy the boys a gumball machine. It was very popular.
Emmett was a little too enthusiastic and smacked his mother in the eye while he unwrapped his gift. Being a mom is so hard.
This is what Seth did for all of Christmas morning. Oh how I envied him.
This is their combined haul. What a weird holiday where parents are expected to buy presents for their kids for no reason whatsoever. I wonder who came up with that idea?
Aunt Kate got a picture frame from her nephews. We put a picture of them in it just for her.
David would give up all the presents in all the world if he could just have some ribbon to eat.
Emmett thought this slinky was amazing. Let's face it. They are pretty amazing.
The triumphant present opener.
James and Emmett sharing a moment.
Yeah. I guess you could say we had a pretty good morning.
