After looking at these pictures I feel that I have to start this process with the following disclaimer: "No children were harmed in the making of this post." I know there are a lot of tools being used and some individuals are on some rather tall ladders but they were all closely supervised and well taken care of.
My dad was working on some projects over the holidays and my boys were excited to help. I think that their presence actually slowed the process down a bit but grandpa was too kind to protest and Eric kindly offered to help which make up for lost time. All my boys seemed to be in their element while they worked alongside their dad and grandpa. They are, after all, boys and boys love tools and a little bit of danger.
Working on the wall.
A boy and his screwdriver.
Adam loved the ladders. I don't know what it was about being up high but it was definitely his favorite thing.
Caleb found some screws that he would have carried around all day had grandpa not thought it best to retrieve them.
A boy and his block of wood. The boys actually helped unload some of the 2x4s that grandpa brought home. What strong men I have.
Up high again.
Caleb only wanted to be up because Adam was. He was much more interested in the tools.
Using dad's ladder as his own.
My roofers.
This face needs to be kissed.
Adam and his Squirtle. Squirtle was also a very good helper.
The older men of the family taking a turn at working. Actually, I think some of them were trying to get away with just talking instead of working. Slackers.
Caleb and James helped grandpa mix cement. Adam got sick the day before and had to miss this part.
Playing king of the sand hill.
Charge!!!
Caleb taking his turn on top.
Pure happiness and joy.
