A week after Caleb's birthday comes James's. How grateful I am for this intelligent and humorous little boy who came into our lives so unexpectedly three years ago. James's birthday this year was split into two parts because of my family's visit. What lucky boy to get showered in gifts twice in one week.
I didn't have enough wrapping paper to wrap some of the boys' bigger gifts this year so I had to get creative with crepe paper. They didn't seem to mind.
Sethers came over to see if James needed any help.
James got a tee-ball set for his birthday. He took the whole thing pretty seriously and didn't allow anyone to play who didn't play by the rules.
Luckily David chose to play while James wasn't looking. I don't think he quite measured up to James's high standards.
James got a new ride-on bike from Grandpa Todd and Grandma Pamela for his birthday. Grandpa and Aunt Kate were nice enough to put it together for him.

He couldn't quite figure out the pedals so David was nice enough to give him a push. That's what little brothers are for.
On James's actual birthday he had a stack of presents to open.
Caleb was eager to offer his assistance and his instruction.
I love when James is excited. That must have been an amazing Dora the Explorer video.
He got some awesome legos from Grandma Cheryl and Grandpa Logan. We were so happy to add them to our stash.
And then James got the only present he ever wanted. You all remember James's constant companion Panda?
Well let me introduce you to giant panda who was purchased by Aunt Kate. Look at that smile! She has got to be the best Aunt ever!
And she didn't stop there. She also got him a new backpack for preschool. They were instantly his favorite things.
And he couldn't resist gathering all his pandas together to celebrate. He found the tiny one while we in California in February. What a happy panda family.
James also helped decorate his cake this year. If you want to watch that process you can click here. As you can see, he made sure to wear his backpack to blow out the candles. It was an important moment you know. Happy Birthday sweet James!
