We visited California for just a few short days in May to celebrate my Grandma Bev's eightieth birthday. It was so nice to see everyone and catch up with extended family. We are so blessed to be able to travel so far in such a short period of time.
Because all of my parents' children and grandchildren were able to make it to the grand event, their house was packed pretty tight and the Berg family inherited the family room for the duration of our stay. There were mattresses and couches practically from wall to wall and everyone was quite comfortable. James somehow got a big mattress all to himself. Adam opted for a couch. Eric and I shared the mattress in the background.
Caleb took couch number two, Rebekah slept in her swing, and David got the pack'n play. I can't believe they all slept through the night! We were just really very blessed.
Even though some of us are restless sleepers.....
A ride with Grandpa Todd in the golf cart is always a treat.
James thought the trailer was especially amazing.
Uncle Joseph also took the kids for a ride and they loved it although mom thought he drove just a little too fast.
Happy cousins.
Uncle Eric trying to get a kiss from Sethers. He was nice enough to give one after I snapped the picture.
David loves the labradors and couldn't help sharing some cheetos with Boaz.
He looks so innocent, doesn't he? I think he was trying to feed him on the sly.
David was also introduced to his first baby turkey.
And decided it deserved a kiss. Yuck!
He was also the only one brave enough to try and collect eggs from under the mother hen who was trying to set.
Grandpa gave him a hand when he couldn't quite reach them. You can see his older brothers hesitate in uncertainty. That mother hen was making a lot of threatening noises!
Rebekah and I. Aren't we just lovely!
Miss Rebekah is so very precious and such a sweet girl.
A trip to California isn't complete without a visit with my friend Jodie. This is the last of our baby/mother pictures. Whatever will we do?
The friendship of Adam and Emily continues. This time they conversed about their favorite colors and other such important matters.
I love watching them interact and play.
My James is such a happy boy, especially when he is in a swing.
And finally, the woman of the hour and the reason for our visit: Grandma Bev with her Berg descendants gathered around her. Even though we only spent two days there they were days packed with cousins, fun, and memory making. Yay for California!
