We got to see both sets of grandparents in May because we made trips to both California and Idaho. My children are so blessed to have both sets of grandparents still living and I am so grateful to be able make these visits happen for them.
It was Rebekah's first time meeting some of the Burley relatives and she thought they were pretty amazing.
She thought Jasie was especially awesome and the pair indulged in some girl talk.
Grandma Cheryl and grandbaby number seven.
After dinner Cody took some of the kids down to the dock to do some fishing.
I thought it was quite brave of him to volunteer to take so many, or maybe he just inherited them as the trickled down to the dock one by one.
Cody was nice enough to let Adam do some fishing.
And after some instruction and help with the pole....
A fish was caught!
Everyone decided that the fish needed poking before it was finally released back into the water. Poor little fish.
I love these two cousins!
I meant to just take a picture of Alli but where she goes they all go. As it is, it turned out as a pretty awesome cousin picture.
Alli was kind enough to tie Adam's shoe when it came untied. Caleb thought I was taking a picture of him :)
An Adam portrait.
A Caleb portrait.
And a James portrait with his trademark stinkeye look.
David really wanted me to let him get in the water. I respectfully declined requests for swimming since the boys can't swim and it was a river.
But that didn't stop them from splashing their feet in it.
And splashing some more.
Even Adam wanted to have a go.
James kept moving slowly towards the water on the bank until a shoe slipped in and he called it quits. He is always trying to see how far he can push it.
My strong, handsome husband up near the house.
Caleb came up early from the dock and played a bit by himself on the swingset.
While the little boys used the trampoline.
David thought jumping was great fun.
As did my sweet James.
These three climbed their way up to the top of the bookshelves after they went fishing in order to have a special hideout.
My goodness they seem at ease for children up so high.
We stopped by Alyson's and Cody's lovely house while we were in Burley. David found some balls and couldn't quite carry them all at the same time. One of the grownups gave him a hand by utilizing his shirt as a carrier.
The Bairs decided to set off a rocket while we were there. Everyone waited in tense anticipation until it was set up and ready to go.
Finally it was off!
I think perhaps it scared Caleb a little.
Once they watched it fly high....
everyone was sent out to retrieve it.
The little ones were almost lost in the field.
Adam was tall enough to keep his feet under him.
And finally the rocket was recovered. What a relief.
Adam showing his displeasure at not being able to be the first one to set the rocket off. Poor Adam.
Cody was building a chicken coop when we visited and Adam and James were only too happy to help.
Adam even managed to put a few screws in with Cody's help.
Alyson, heaven bless her, pushed James around in this thing in the scorching heat for a few minutes because his legs were too short to reach the pedals.
David had no such luck since his mother did not share Alyson's kindness.
While we were at the Bair's Alyson decided to do a photoshoot with her new niece. This was Alli's blessing dress from nearly seven years ago.
We made Jasie join the shoot since Rebekah was sleeping and not very animated.
What sweet girls!
Oh my precious baby! I must eat her cheeks!
It was so, so good to visit Burley for a few days and we are so excited to visit again soon!
