The day before David's surgery Alyson, Drayke, and Alli arrived for a visit. They had no idea what was in store for them since I was still in denial about David's surgery at that point and hadn't really discussed it with them. Bless Alyson's heart for not turning around and running as soon as I told her the news. There was no way I could have done that first day or any of the following challenging days without her. These photos wouldn't exist without her either since I was too stressed to take any and Alyson volunteered to be the photographer.
A very distraught David holding some of his cars. The boy felt awful for a week straight.
Trying hard to be brave but I see the tears in his eyes.
Fitfully sleeping on Caleb's bed which he claimed as his own during his recovery.
Luckily they are still small enough that Caleb could fit on his bed as well during the night.
James chose to zonk out on the floor so he didn't have to sleep in his room alone. What a week of topsy-turvy chaos!
My cute Jimmer.
Upside down on the stairs.
Alyson took James and David for a walk where they found some amazing foliage and learned new words like "leaf." They had so much fun.
These are Caleb's hands.
This is my sweet girl.
She loves that tongue of hers.
And she is pretty fond of her Aunt Alyson as well.
Alyson and she played photoshoot again. Rebekah is always such a willing subject. Lovin' her pearls here.
A fitting onesie for the moment.
Look at that pose! Such a photogenic baby.
And I had to include this one for that smile.
Alli and Rebekah are the only two female Berg cousins and they were born seven years apart. It's just so much beauty for one family to handle! Thank You Allison, Drayke, and Alli for coming to be with us for a few days. We had an amazing time and can't wait to do it again soon. Hopefully no one will require surgery next time....
