Grandma Pamela's Birthday Sleepover!

October for the Berg family started off with a bang. It was Grandma Pamela's sixtieth birthday and the Elkins siblings snuck down to California with their spouses and children to surprise the birthday girl. Eric couldn't get off work so Aunt Kate was nice enough to drive down with me and the kids.
Pit stop outside of Mesquite to rearrange the kiddos. Everyone has an opinion about where they should sit in van. I, for one, wish the van was just a little bigger so I could put all the noisy children in the back. I guess that would mean five seats all lined up in the back row......

Adam was so happy when we put Rebekah in the back with Caleb and him for an hour or so. He adores his little sister.

Grandma's birthday weekend also coincided with conference weekend so we spent a few hours every day listening to the prophet and apostles teach us principles of the gospel. Seth cuddled with Grandma Bev for a few minutes during one of the sessions.

And Andrew spent some time with Grandpa.

Actually, lots of the grandchildren spent some time with grandpa. That's a whole lotta lovin' going on there.

The conference attendees. I love trying to listen to conference with the noise of my very busy extended family in the background. Thank heavens the church publishes it soon after.

Rebekah having some Grandpa time while we chatted as a family.

And some Grandma time while we continued with the chatting.

Uncle Taylor even took a turn. She seemed to like him quite a lot.

This is James. I only know that it is him from the socks, so here's hoping whoever was on sock duty that day used the correct ones for the correct boy.

A trip to California is not complete without a ride on the golf cart with Grandpa.

Adam looks like a real pro here. He must have had some practice :)

Rebekah looks pretty pleased with the kisses she is getting from Grandma Bev.

Blue-eyed Andrew. I must eat his cheeks!

Sweet Sethers.

Sweet Sethers having a conversation with Jessie.

And sweet Sethers having a conversation with a turtle. He was obviously very into the animals this time around.

Happy James with a dirty face and brown eyes.

James and Emmett ended up giving each other big hugs for a few minutes.

Which brought to mind this moment from January of 2013. I hope they will always be good friends.

Maddy doesn't smile for me very often and the pictures I did take of her smiling this trip ended up fuzzy (darn camera) so this is as good as it gets. Maybe one day.....

This is my David. Yes, his hair is standing on end. Yes, his face is gross.

Really, really gross. It is such a cute face anyway.

Rebekah loves her tongue.

Really loves her tongue.

Seth and David examining the breeder pigs in the backyard. I love that David's blanket and sippy cup are on the ground. He practices such cleanliness!

Hooray for Grandma Pamela! May she live many more years to watch her family continue to grow and blossom around her! We love you!
