California Outside

The kids and I took a jaunt down to California in May. It was a long trip without another adult but it was totally worth it.

We arrived just in time for the birth of the baby pigs. Caleb thought they were super cute. I think he is super cute.

Adam was pretty enchanted as well.

James wasn't very impressed with the piglets but he was very happy to see Jessie. I think he may  need a dog in the future......

This girl was super happy to see dirt after our ten hour drive. What a feminine little dirt eater.

A few days into our visit Grandpa needed to pressure wash some of the outside fixtures so they would sparkle. The boys were only too happy to lend a hand (or eight) to help him get the job done.

Benches need cleaning too.

And flower pots. What a manly man.

Competition runs deep in our family and the boys couldn't help racing for the camera. Look at that determined joy!

David can race too!

California visits aren't complete without a cookout. The boys start asking for one almost as soon as we exit the van. David loved "cooking" his hot dog. He was sitting so far back from the fire that it's only change was the addition of some black soot from the smoke.

Some languid roasting.

That's some pointed determination there. I hope it tasted good after all that concentration.

Adam never eats the hot dogs but he cooks them just the same. I think it's a game for him.

This boy loves Jessie and she loves him. Never a better petter.

Smush face.

Sometimes the crazy shines through..........

California is just awesome!
