Christmas 2017

Christmas at the Berg House! The Christmas Season came and went like a whirlwind this year and although I tried my best to document it with photos, I'm afraid I spent more time enjoying the moment than whipping out my camera. Still, I think you will get the general picture of our activities.

This is the Festival of Lights. Yep. That's all I got unless you count this 18 second video that I managed to take before I put the camera down. Our family had tons of fun driving around and looking at the lights. I am so grateful that we have the opportunity to experience Christmas lights without leaving the car. My children are big complainers when it comes to the cold and being able to sit in a heated car with them while enjoying the sights of the season makes me a happy mommy.

Our Ward Christmas Party supplied a photo booth and Adam wouldn't let us leave until we got our picture taken. I am so grateful for his persistence. Look at that family! Cuties every one.

Aunt Kate made everyone a new blanket for Christmas. She spent hours on them and they turned out perfect.

A red Mario blanket for Caleb.

Blue Mario for Adam.

Yellow Mario for James.

Green Mario for David. I told him to hold it up so I could take a picture. He's back there somewhere....

And so much pink for Rebekah! This girl loves pink.

Aunt Kate got a sewing machine from the Berg family. The boys enjoyed watching her open it just as much as they liked opening their own gifts.

Christmas Eve we performed the nativity with Rebekah standing in for Mary and James for Joseph. The other boys played angels, shepherds, wise men, and donkeys. It was perhaps the most rambunctious nativity ever acted out but the little ones got to experience the story and hear our testimonies about the birth of the Savior so it really turned out quite perfect. We recorded most of it and you can feel free to watch it if you want although I must warn you it is quite long and not for the faint of heart ;)

Our oh-so-pretty Christmas tree after the presents were wrapped and the ornaments adjusted on Christmas Eve.

And my oh-so-wonderful children waiting patiently around it after they had woken up early Christmas Day.

This year we put a little scrap of wrapping paper in the toe of each stocking so the boys would know which presents were theirs to open. It was my only way of making sure they acknowledged the fact that there were indeed items in their stockings before they opened what they were actually after.

Caleb didn't seem to mind the detour.

David was still waking up.

And James was super happy with his blue playdough.

This little girl woke up after everyone else had already finished opening their presents and the boys wasted no time making sure she opened every single one of hers. As you can see, they were mostly clothing and accessories. What a perfect pink thing!

Gabby, confused on her second day with us, thought the whole present opening process was much too loud and scary.

Aunt Kate was nice enough to watch the kids while Eric and I took a nap. The boys made sure to play with every single new toy while we were sleeping. Adam striking a pose with his automatic nerf gun.

Caleb was especially enthralled with the new magnet STEM toys from Grandma Cheryl and Grandpa Logan. I have to admit, they are super cool toys.

James and his new deluxe hot wheels track.

David is super good at puzzles and he put these ones together over and over again.

Caleb's stuck nerf bullet. So talented!

Quite the creator my James!

David's Paw Patroller. It was his most favorite toy ever!

Caleb obviously decided that the tree needed just a few more decorations to make it truly pretty.

And then there was Gabby who spent the majority of Christmas Day trying to avoid my five hooligans. It's ok Gabby. You'll get used to the constant noise and commotion one day. Merry Christmas Team Berg!
