The day after Christmas we drove down to California to visit my parents for the holidays. It was a long drive since everyone else seemed to be heading somewhere for the holidays as well. Thankfully, we finally made it without incident late that same evening. It was good to be with family again.
The day after we arrived Grandma offered to make homemade peanut butter cups with Adam.
He was in heaven. Peanut butter cups are his favorite candy and time spent alone with grandma in the kitchen is always top on his list of favorite things to do.
The finished product. Aren't they lovely!
The kids were super excited to get their gifts from the grandparents. They didn't even mind being put in a line to wait for them.
Rebekah was still a little unsure about the whole unwrapping the presents thing. The boys seem to have it down though.
This is the only thing that Adam really wanted for Christmas. As you can see, he was quite pleased.
A spirograph for my young artist.
A walking kitty for my animal loving James.
And random ninja turtle items for David which included new underwear! Hint, hint, David!
Grandpa wanted money to build things outside for Christmas and we happily obliged.
Grandma's present was a surprise, as you can tell from the look on her face. We got her a Roku so she could stream things to her t.v. Believe me, once we explained what it was she was really quite pleased.
Grandma bought a gingerbread house kit before we arrived as well as lots of extra candy for "decorating." As you can see from the look on David's face, the boys were in heaven.
Looking great James!
Very good Caleb!
Just amazing! My sons are so creative!
We also played the grinch game while we were there. The game is a Berg Boy favorite family tradition. Their prize this year was light sabers and hero costumes. As you can see, it was a perfect pick for a prize.
Rebekah even had to join in the fun.
Look at that super hero helping his little sister with her beads. Makes my heart melt.
And this super hero playing along. Gives me a "happy wife" smile.
Our holiday in California was full of fun activities. One of the last was making and decorating frosted sugar cookies.
Sweet brothers.
These cookies are Adam's favorite food of all time and, as you can see, he is pretty pleased with life. Rebekah was thrilled to be joining in the fun for once since we usually do this when she is napping.
Seriously, life is good.
Cookie making on the back porch was the perfect time to get some portraits of my loves. I know I'm their mother but I have to tell you, these are some good looking kids! (Try not to look at David's too hard. He was in a David mood."
Yep, we had an amazing time in California. We sure do love our grandparents and all their love and tickles :)

I would love to know what the grinch game is. Also I so enjoy when you update. Your family is just so cute and everyone is getting so big.
