The Randomness Of February

February came and went like a blur and my lack of pictures shows it. I'm still glad for the randomly sweet moments I captured along the way.

We stopped to play in the McDonald's play place one day. It's always a highlight for the younger Bergs. We older Bergs tolerate it for the sake of the younger generation. As I was sipping my soda I heard calls of "Look at me, mom! Look at me!" I looked up and was rewarded with the sight of my excited children looking down at me from above.

David had to make me look just one more time to prove that I was still paying attention.

Adam had his first piano recital and he did splendidly as you can see here. He really enjoys his teacher Krystal Loveland.

The performers. Look at that pleased smile!

This was James' first recorded attempt to write his name. Super cute and a picture to boot!

Rebekah enjoys regularly declaring her independence loudly and firmly. Yes, she is indeed making her own peanut butter and jelly sandwich. See?

Caleb received a trip to the toy store after a harrowing experience at the dentist and decided to buy these slugs from the tv show Slugterra. They were a big hit until David decided to flush the majority of them down the toilet. If they were smart they took refuge with the corn dog he had flushed down there a couple of days before......

Eric had a birthday and this is the way his office celebrated. It may have had something to do with him writing "you are adequate" in everyone's Christmas Card in December. The kids and I bought him flank steak for jerky and a video game. I think he had a good day.

Caleb was messing around before we left to go somewhere as a family and ended up suspended by a seat belt in the back of the van. We, being the good parents that we are, took pictures before we helped him out of his predicament.

Eric decided it was time for a crazy makeover which meant the beard had to go. It protested as it went, as did I, but Eric was determined.

Yes, we did some creative trimming along the way.

And finally ended up with a sporty mustache. He wore it to work the next few days just to make everyone smile. After he shaved off the mustache he began once again regrowing the beard and I am happy to report that everything is now as it once was. Long live the beard and long live February 2017!
