July kicked off four weeks (two two-week sessions) of swimming lessons for Team Berg. We have never attempted swimming lessons before because having to take all five of my children to a public place terrifies me. After all, something may happen to one of them while I am watching another one. Also, I can't really trust my little ones not to destroy the places that we visit. Yes, we are that family. Thankfully, swimming lessons went swimmingly and it will definitely be a do over for next year. My children learned so much!
David getting used to his new teacher. He was the quite the handful for her and I felt sort of bad because she ended up getting Adam too later on in the day. Bless her heart for being awesome with my two most difficult children.
James with his class.
Rebekah blowing bubbles. Swimming lessons made Rebekah quite fearless when it came to water play and now I have to watch her like a hawk to make sure she doesn't drown. Perhaps next year she can learn some new survival skills to match her bravery.
David giving his teacher trouble.
Four of my swimmers. Aren't they handsome!
Out of all the children Adam got the most from his swimming lessons. He was actually swimming and diving by the end of it. It was amazing to watch!
Rebekah loved her first teacher and she was so patient with her.
Look at that face! What a handful!
James had the same teacher as Rebekah for the first two weeks and he adored her as well.
Caleb and his first teacher.
Triumphant Adam holding his passing certificate.
James' second teacher was a sweetheart as well. What an awesome group of young'ns they have at the rec center.
Caleb and teacher number two.
And finally, Adam and his second teacher. She did amazing things for him and I was so impressed by his progress. You watch them here if you have the urge. David and Rebekah didn't complete their second round of swimming lessons because, being four and two, they get so easily distracted by life. However, I, in my motherly euphoria, forgave them freely. Swimming lessons are awesome!
