February was full of awesome and trying randomness that brought our family joy and anguish.
Grandpa Todd's birthday is on the same day as Eric's. This year the kids made him a sign and a video. They love their grandpa Todd!
I want to smoosh this face!
That is the most beautiful hat I have ever seen!
February was the month that seven out of the eight of us got influenza type A. I, for some strange reason, was spared. It was weeks of fevers, pain, and exhaustion. When I took the kids to the doctor to find out what they had they gave us these to wear. No one was a fan of their face prison.
They all wore them dutifully in the waiting room but once we were put in the consultation room they ripped them off, never to be put back on again.
Some of my flu boys.
Cuddles from Aunt Kate for my sick David.
This was our life for so long that I thought it would never end. We had so many kids sick at the same time and so many different medications to keep track of that we had to make a chart. Have you ever heard of something more ridiculous? Eventually, the last fever was finally soothed and all the medication was put back in the cupboard. Let's cross our fingers that it never happens again.
Sometimes if you look around our house you will find something like this. No idea how it got there or why it's being punished.
Kate ended up with a few extra charges one day and Rebekah "helped" the littlest one.
She also occasionally (very occasionally) "helps" to clean things up.
You've done a lovely job on that fridge my dear!
We had teacher conference one day at the school and Kate watched the kids out in the main area while Eric and I ran down the list of conferences. She let them slide down the slide in the Stem-Rec room. They were pretty thrilled at the prospect.
Adam is a pro of course. He has been using the slide for over seven months as a way to get from the second floor to the first.
Cute little Bekah.
Caleb is a pro as well. The slide may have seemed intimidating when they first started but now they handle it with style.
James doesn't get to go down very often because the Kindergarten is mostly separate from the rest of the school. He was pretty thrilled to be on the big kids slide for once.
David sometimes eats the inside of his hot dogs first. Yes, that is strange.
Sometimes you have to get super close to your brother in order to watch that little tiny screen.
Someone made friends with a marker.
And someone else made friends with stickers.
He even put some on the draw string of his pants for good luck. Oh what these five can't manage to get up to in the period of a month! I love 'em to bits!
