4th Of July

The 4th of July is one of my favorite holidays. The sound of the BOOM BOOM BOOM, the smell of the sulfur, the pretty, pretty lights. I love it all! Unfortunately, one of the downsides to living in our amazing house on the edge of BLM land is that fireworks are severely frowned upon. Something about setting the hillside on fire. Oh well. We still managed to have an enjoyable 4th.

Little exploding poppers were purchased for the kids.

David had to wind up quite a bit to get the sound he wanted.

Wahoo!!!

My sweet boy Adam.

We also added some smoke bombs to our revelry. The boys love running through the smoke. Not quite sure why. You would think it would be blinding.

On their way back from a smoke run.

This was Rebekah's first year holding a smoke bomb while it was being lit.

For some reason she decided to run into the garage with it. I can't say she was a fan of the whole process. Maybe next year.

Caleb's turn. He is an excellent smoke bomb thrower. They all were actually as you can see here.

David and his graveyard of used smoke bombs.

A giant smoke bomb set off by dad to thrill us all.

Look at all that green smoke!

And a pink one to satisfy our pink thing.

We watched city fireworks from our hill again this year. This was a rare moment of happy togetherness for these two.

James was poked by something which threatened to ruin our night. Luckily he chose to buck up.

Popcorn and a light show. What more could he want?

This picture makes me happy.

This one too despite Gabby's demon eyes. Happy 4th!
