Adam thinks that light and reflections are fascinating. He will walk back in forth in front of our picture frames, watching the light reflected in them from our overhead living room light. He looks much like one of my father's birds who used to walk back and forth at their fences during feeding time in the hopes of getting something good. Adam isn't looking for something good though. He is wondering where the light goes when he reaches that point in his path where he can't see it anymore. Where is the light hiding? He is absolutely silent as he paces back and forth. I try not to focus on the fact that he looks possessed. My pregnant state makes me far to easily freaked out. He also enjoys his shadow and will spend long periods of quiet time watching the shadow of his hand pass over objects on the ground. It is almost as if he were trying to grasp them with his shadow hand. He has only recently discovered his own reflection in things. Who would have thought that my silver pot would be a science project. Who would have thought that my two-year-old would be so fascinated by science or that his thought processes would remind me so much of those of his father. Weird.
