The Finalization of James' Adoption

On October 15, 2012 Eric and I took our little James to the 4th Judicial Court for the State of Utah in American Fork to have his adoption finalized by Judge Christine S. Johnson. I was so happy to finally sign the papers that made him legally ours. That six months of limbo was not a great time for someone with my OCD personality. I knew he was ours but no one would give me things like a Birth Certificate or a Social Security Card. Thank goodness we have moved past that.

 

James was pretty good during the whole thing. He listened attentively to our lawyer as he asked us questions about ourselves and our lives at home. He only began to fuss a little when he decided he had gone long enough without nursing. Thankfully, we were wrapping it up by then and I didn't have to break out the udder-cover in the courtroom. I wonder how everyone would have felt about that?
