California

California here we come! This time it was to escape the awful smoke that filled our valley this year because of nearby wildfires. I'm so grateful that we have numerous family members who will take us in when we need to escape real life (and lung-blackening smoke).

To pass the time on the way down Adam (and his brothers) made a string out of softened starbursts. Isn't that lovely?

Bekah, hiding from the ride and, at times, my lively singing as you can see here in this video.

Once we got to grandma's she was all smiles.

As were these two although Caleb was not so happy about James trying to share his ride.

Grandpa needed some help feeding pumpkins to the turtles and Adam happily volunteered. Something about holding a machete made his usual complaints about doing chores just disappear.

Caleb was up next. Look at that swing!

And the David man. Yes, those feet are bare.

And finally, our little princess swinging with all her might. I cringed while I took the pictures and I am still cringing now as I look at them and write this but no digits were lost and the kids had alot of fun so it all turned out great.

Grandpa and pink enjoying some tv time.

David and his popsicle.

This boy was so worn out from playing hard that church on Sunday was just one long nap. He looks super comfy.

Diving skittles is super important. You wouldn't want to get your proportions wrong.

David showing Grandpa the tablet. Grandpa was a very good sport with David's exuberance.

A one-man gaming tower. He made it super sturdy too. Right on top of a nice, smooshy mattress.

We bought punch balloons to add to the fun that comes with being at grandma's house.

David thought his forehead was the appropriate place to secure the elastic band. Let's hope all his brain cells maintained good blood flow.

My sweet grandma and the pink girl. Love that they sit together.

Here's to a wonderfully peasant, exhausting, exhilarating time in California!
