One Last Cookout

Our trip to California also coincided with saying farewell to Jodie and her family as they were moving to South Carolina a few months later and we would not see them again before their move. We had one last bittersweet cookout to celebrate our friendship.

The kids decorated cupcake cones for desert.

Rebekah was being very meticulous.

Such a cute boy.

I love so many things about this picture. David with his stick. Brody taking the wheel and Maddy sitting up there on that teeter-totter with perfect faith in James and his ability to keep her stable. I wonder if he deserved her faith in the end....

Three-on-one tether-ball. I think Emily still won.

Caleb and Ethan always play so well together. They are just charming.

When it got dark some of the kids headed inside for different kind of fun.

Grandpa is talented enough to push two swings as you can see in this Video.

Life is good when you are Rebekah.

I think we all agree that cookouts are amazing and I am so grateful for the many long years of friendship that I and my family have enjoyed with the Millward family. Hopefully we all will be able to plan future visits to California in such a way that we will see each other again soon.
