I am the barber of our family. Unfortunately I am not very talented and everyone pretty much gets the same haircut. I cut Eric's hair more often than the others since he spends most of his days talking to other people and I want him to look presentable. I usually cut the boys' hair every other time that I cut Eric's hair. Sometimes though, someone will slip through the cracks. None of them really like their hair cut and it takes alot of energy and patience to get it done. It is so much easier to let it go until next time.
As you can see, I had let Caleb's hair go just a few too many times. I kept thinking I would cut it next time and next time never really came. I finally decided that that night would be the night. Goodbye curls.
Hello handsome little boy.
James wasn't supposed to get his hair cut that night or really even in the near future. I wasn't quite ready for my baby to have his first haircut. However, he saw Caleb doing it and decided that he had to follow suit. I kissed his little baby hair goodbye and Eric made the first cut with the clippers.
James tolerated the process with courage and composure.
And he looked so, so handsome afterwards.
Adam was not due for a haircut until the time after but I think he felt a little bit of pier pressure after watching both his brothers get theirs cut. He too volunteered himself for the clippers.
And another handsome boy emerged. I hope David lets me keep his baby hair for a while it will be so sad to lose my last baby.
