Our New Tree

And so it begins again......  December began with a new Christmas Tree for the Berg family. Our Christmas Trees in past years have never been over four feet tall because we have a houseful of rambunctious boys who tend to knock everything over. However, this year we decided that it would be better if Adam didn't have memories of tiny trees to accuse about with later in life. We bought a brand new (pre-lit) seven-foot tree and had the older two carry it into the house when we got home. The boys then proceeded to play on the big box the tree came in for a few days while I tried to convince myself that decorating the tree with my four hooligans would be the smoothest process ever.

Everyone looks so proud of themselves that they helped mom set up the tree.

James is always so willing to play along with my picture taking even when others get distracted.

James loved decorating the tree and was wonderfully good at it. He was very specific about where he wanted to put things.

Caleb was a little more haphazard in his placement but he also thought the whole thing was great fun.

Adam had fun being the tallest of my decorators. He even utilized the stairs to give himself extra height.

David was more of a grabber than a decorator.

But there is nothing more fun than grabbing things and running when you are David so he was pretty pleased with himself.

James decided that if Adam could utilize the stairs to decorate so could he.

Caleb invented his own dangerous way of decorating the tree. Yes, he is a Berg boy. We do nothing calmly nor serenely here.

A few days after the tree went up it came down. David was the culprit. Here he is giving the camera his best uh-of face. Uh-oh was actually David's first word. It has served him well countless times.

I'm a big fan of bokeh lights and couldn't resist encouraging my boys to smile for the camera so I could capture some photos of them in front of the tree. Unfortunately, Adam was standing too close to the camera to catch the lights behind him. Bokeh lights or not, he is still such a cutie.

Caleb only half agreed to pose for me so I only got half a smile.

James, of course, was all smiles. Cutest boy ever.

David was in the middle of getting into something when I asked him to take a picture so he was a little distracted. I think he is still thinking here about the mess he was making before. Oh well, at least I documented the tree!
