A New School Year

August marked a new school year for Team Berg. After finishing off the last school year homeschooling and working through the summer to catch people up, we enrolled the three oldest at Franklin Discovery Academy, a charter school in Vineyard. This momma was super nervous to send her babies to school because of Adam's condition and the bad experiences we have had with the public school system in the past but I knew that I needed to remove the teaching burden from me before I once again felt like too much of a failure. So far, Franklin has been an astounding success. Adam is thriving there and hates missing school which is a miracle. The other two boys are doing amazing as well and I am so grateful for everything that has led us to this point.

First day of school in three years for this boy.

Confident and ready to go.

My amazingly cute kindergartner.

School pictures were mostly a flop for us this year. Adam looks like he was about to cry. When I asked him what happened he told me he didn't know why he looked like that because he tried to smile the best he could.

Caleb looks AMAZING!!! I love that boy's ears!

And this boy. This strained-smile-boy looks like his momma forgot to check him over before she sent him off to school. Truth be known, the first picture day was held before kindergarten started and I totally spaced retake day which means James was on his own when the moment finally arrived. The result was so humorous that I couldn't help ordering the picture anyway. Perhaps participating in spring picture day is in order.......
