Sorry about my long absence. August is a busy month for Team Berg and I haven't had time until now to reminisce about July.
July is hot in Provo. Not as hot as it is in other states but still uncomfortable enough that we spend a lot of time indoors. One Saturday while we were running errands as a family Eric and I spotted a Sno Cone Shack. For those of you (like me before we moved to Utah) who have never heard of such a thing let me enlighten you. A Sno Cone Shack is a small transportable structure from which one can purchase a deliciously icy cold treat for an almost reasonable price. These shacks appear at the start of summer and disappear when the weather turns cold.
We generally avoid such places since most of our children have been to young to truly appreciate the experience. However, this time we decided to pile out of our minivan and give our boys a new adventure. After choosing our flavors based on color (Adam is still infatuated with Navy Blue) we paid our $12.96 (a little overpriced since it is just shaved ice and a squirt of flavoring) and sat down on the grass to enjoy ourselves.
Caleb's Sno Cone was red. I would say of all the boys he was most enthralled with his treat. He ate a ton of it and what he didn't eat he got all over himself.
James liked the whole thing ok. He enjoyed the straws/spoons a lot more than the actual shaved ice.
Adam was a little hesitant at first and spilled his blue Sno Cone on the ground but soon found an eating buddy in his Dad.
Eric encouraging Adam to eat some of his passion fruit Sno Cone.
Eric watching as Adam fails to get the majority of the Sno Cone into his mouth.
Eric pondering the expensive shaved ice that has now fallen to the ground....and perhaps on his pants as well.
Adam recovered handily and started digging in with vigor. James played with his spoon......
David sat quietly through the whole thing. He is such a good baby.
Caleb thought if James couldn't feed himself maybe he should help out a little bit.
Which encouraged James to help himself to Caleb's Sno Cone.
Then he transferred his attention to the Sno Cone that had fallen on the ground......
At least he had fun!
