The Randomness Of California

WARNING! This will be a very long (and probably very boring to all but my nearest and dearest) blog that will contain lots of portraits and very little story telling. The truth is I got a new lens for my camera right before we left for California and I took over 1,500 pictures of our trip alone. I think I must have a sickness. The pictures turned out so cute that I had a hard time leaving any of them out so here they are (among other things) in all their glory. Don't be afraid to go through this one sort of quickly.

I had to make just a little tribute to the time we were able spend with cousins during the first part of our trip. We thought we were going to miss them by a few days but they had to stay a little longer because of an ear infection (poor Madison) and we were blessed to have their company for a while. Most of that time was spent outside.

Isn't he beautiful?!

Enjoying his cookie.

A smiling moment. He must not have know I was trying to take his picture :)

The prettiest niece ever.

My dirty David. I think he is always dirty.

Happy cousins.

A coy look for his momma.

So, so dirty.

So, so handsome.

Enjoying a popsicle that he didn't know how to hold.

A very careful popsicle eater.

A congregation of cousins.

Yep. We certainly have good looking children.

Nope, that's not the right end of the popsicle.

Isn't she just perfect!

Happiness in a swing.

The popsicle leftovers.

Coinsins on a blanket.

Swings and cookies. Who could ask for anything more?

This is his smile for me and my camera. Sort of reminds me of Caleb's camera smile.

Caleb only likes the frosting. It's too bad it's so hard to get it off the cookie.

"Do you really think you should be taking my picture right now?"

The result of popsicles and cookies.

I love this boy!

Yep. Pickin' that nose until......

"Oh! Hi mom!"

Just one of my drama kings. I guess no one wanted to put him in the swing.

I don't know what his problem was but it must have been tragic.

This one found an otter pop and escaped to the swingset to eat it.

And this one did too. He seems quite excited about that telescope.

Finishing off the melted pop.

Such a ham.

Cheese!

That's a look for Grandpa Todd.

Not quite sure why he isn't buttoned up but he doesn't seem to care.

Falling asleep in the swing.

The boys spent lots of time on the trampoline this trip but knowing that I had a whole blog devoted to it from our last trip I decided to only include a few pictures this time.

I love that they are old enough to jump together now. They have so much fun.

Happy jumping James.

Cautious Caleb.

Performer Adam.

We spent lots of time outside during our trip to California (I think you probably have gathered that by now) and lots of time in the water. We really couldn't miss the opportunity to play a little bit with the garden hose and Grandma Pamela.

Messing with the hose and making water fly everywhere.

David was very enchanted with the water fountain.

James kept needing a drink.

He's all in.

James waiting his turn (but not very patiently)

A drenched Caleb taking a drink. They were all drenched by then.

James trying (not so nicely) to tell David his turn was over.

Love David's scrunched up face.

Spraying down the jumpers.

James once again voicing his desire to be the one using the hose. He was getting a little possessive. Caleb thinks he is overreacting and David is indifferent.

Someone found some bubbles that were quickly spilled all over the ground. Momentary happiness.

The happy water jumpers. It was a great afternoon.

Caleb spent his last night enjoying Uncle Joseph's company. Everyone else was sleeping and these two were hanging out in Uncle Joseph's room.

Excuse him, he is very, very busy.

What a wonderful trip we had. We can't wait to do it again soon.
